UNITY MOVEMENT PLEDGE

We don’t ask where you come from, what’s in your past, or what religions or churches you’ve belonged to. We are concerned with you making the commitment to stand with us for God by standing up for His timeless, non-biased, universal principles and characteristics of good, as we work to establish His kingdom in the earth.” Take the Unity Movement Pledge and let God and the world know that you stand for Him in good against evil.

'LOVE' I pledge and commit to practicing and promoting love for God and humanity by giving of myself for the benefit of others. Additionally I will allow my life to be complicated by the needs and struggles of others without impatience or anger, be my brothers and sisters keeper, help remove burdens, support others during difficult moments, and encourage all to be their best.

'HONESTY' I pledge and commit to practicing and promoting honesty in my interactions with others by being fair and truthful in representing the real facts about something, and in abstaining from fraud or deception (as seen in refraining from lying, stealing, or cheating).

'PEACE' I pledge to practice and promote peace by operating in a state of freedom from disturbance and agitation. To do this I commit to treating all people with kindness, regardless of race, religion, gender, nationality, political affiliations, or sexual preference, and to advocating peace over anger/hate, and dialogue over war.

'COMPASSION' I pledge to practice maintaining a sympathetic awareness of other's distress, together with a desire to alleviate it; and I commit to thinking about more than me and my own problems, stepping in someone else’s shoes, and applying the golden rule by extending a helping hand to those in need.

'MERCY' I pledge to practice leniency with myself and others that have wronged me even when I have every right to punish; and I commit to refraining from pointing fingers in blame, being judgmental, talking down to others, and/or physically causing harm to others.

'FORGIVENESS' I pledge and commit to practice and promote letting go the blame of others for things done to me and others; and to giving up resentment of or claim to requital for by refusing to hold grudges for things said or done by others.

'PATIENCE' I pledge and commit to practicing and promoting patience by remaining calm and not becoming annoyed when waiting for a long time or when dealing with life's challenges or difficult people.

'FAIRNESS' I pledge and commit to practicing and promoting the treatment of all people in unbiased ways, not favoring some over others for reasons of religion, ethnicity, nationality, socio-economics, politics, gender, or sexual preferences.

'GRATITUDE' I pledge and commit to practicing and promoting gratitude by focusing on the things and blessings bestowed upon me instead of focusing on what is missing.

'RESPECT' I pledge and commit to practicing and promoting respect one person-to-another by acknowledging that all humans were created by the same Creator God; and deserves to be treated with civility and decency in the way I want to be treated.

'DEPENDABILITY' I pledge and commit to practicing and promoting dependability by being reliable and trustworthy to God and humanity through my commitment to the characteristics of good, and to my family by ensuring that I can be counted on to be loving, supportive, honest, and reliable.

'HUMILITY' I pledge and commit to practicing and promoting humility by thinking less often about myself and more often about serving God, my family, and humanity.

'TOLERANCE' I pledge and commit to practicing and promoting tolerance by possessing a openness and willingness to consider and seek to understand the feelings, habits, or beliefs of others that differ from my own while working towards discovering commonalities.

'LOYALTY' I pledge and commit to practicing and promoting loyalty to God through the implementation of these characteristics in thought, words, and deeds; and to my family by being instrumental in the development, direction, health, safety, and progression of each member belonging to my family unit.

'SELFLESSNESS' I pledge and commit to practicing and promoting selflessness by generously sharing my time, talents, and resources with others even when doing so create personal inconveniences for me.

'GENEROSITY' I pledge and commit to practicing and promoting the acts of showing kindness and a readiness in giving more of something, as in money or time, than is strictly necessary or expected to those that ask me.

'FAITHFUL' I pledge and commit to practicing and promoting the quality of being true to my word, promises, and vows.

'GOLDEN RULE' I pledge and commit to practicing and promoting the principle of doing the good unto others I want done unto me or a loved one.

'REPENTANCE' I pledge and commit to the practice of repenting when I fail to embody the essence of God in my thoughts, words, and actions; which means that I vow to acknowledge my wrongs, ask for forgiveness, work to rectify my wrongs, accept the consequences of my actions without blame, and turn away from such behavior back to embodying God's universal principles and characteristics of good.

By sending this pledge, you are vowing to God and joining the Unity Movement in committing to practice and promote all the characteristics listed above all the days of your natural life, believing (having faith) that these characteristics/fruits represent God expectations for all humans from the first to the last.
